The Funnyface TikTok emoji is one of TikTok’s hidden secret emojis — a pink round face with one eye winking and its tongue sticking out. It is the perfect reaction for silly, goofy, and lighthearted moments, and like all of TikTok’s secret emojis, it only appears when you type its exact code in a comment or caption.
In this guide, you will learn the exact Funnyface code, how to copy and paste it, what the emoji means, when to use it, and how to download the PNG image for your own posts and projects.
Funnyface TikTok Emoji Code: Copy and Paste
The code for the Funnyface emoji is:
[funnyface]
Copy the code above exactly — including both square brackets and the lowercase spelling — and paste it into a TikTok comment or caption. Once you post it, TikTok converts the code into the pink winking face with its tongue out. If the code stays as plain text after posting, check the spelling first: the code must be lowercase, with no spaces, and typed inside the TikTok app’s comment or caption box, not in a browser or another app.
What Does the Funnyface Emoji Mean?
Funnyface means silliness. It is the digital equivalent of pulling a goofy face at your friends — one eye winking, tongue out, nothing serious about it. Use it when you are joking around, teasing someone affectionately, reacting to something absurd, or just lightening the mood of a conversation.
Unlike laughing emojis such as [joyful] or [laugh], which say “that was funny,” Funnyface says “I am being silly.” That distinction makes it ideal for self-deprecating jokes, playful comebacks, and moments where you want to signal that you are not being serious.
How to Use the Funnyface Emoji on TikTok
Using any secret TikTok emoji follows the same steps:
- Open the TikTok app on your phone and find the video you want to comment on, or start creating your own video.
- Tap the comment box or the caption field.
- Type [funnyface] exactly, in lowercase, inside square brackets.
- Post the comment or publish the video. TikTok replaces the code with the Funnyface emoji image.
A few things to know: secret emojis only convert inside TikTok’s own app — they do not work in the TikTok website’s comment box in most cases, and they never work in other apps like WhatsApp or Instagram, where the code will simply show as text. They also only work in comments and some captions, not in direct messages. If a code will not convert, make sure your TikTok app is updated, and test it in a normal comment first.
When to Use the Funnyface Emoji
Funnyface shines in playful contexts. Here are the best moments to drop it:
- Teasing a friend: a lighthearted reply to a friend’s silly video or questionable take.
- Self-deprecating jokes: admitting you did something goofy, with the emoji signaling you are laughing at yourself.
- Reacting to absurd content: videos that are so weird or over-the-top that a normal laugh reaction feels too serious.
- Breaking tension: softening a joke or a hot take so it reads as playful rather than harsh.
- Flirting, lightly: a wink plus a tongue out is a classic low-stakes flirty signal, used carefully.
Avoid using Funnyface in serious conversations, condolence messages, or professional contexts — the tongue-out silliness can easily read as dismissive when the topic is serious.

More Secret TikTok Emojis to Try
Funnyface is just one of 46 hidden TikTok emojis, and mixing them makes your comments more expressive. If you liked Funnyface, try [laughwithtears] when something is so funny you are crying with laughter, [sulk] when you are playfully annoyed, [shock] for a genuinely surprised reaction, or [proud] when you want to show off a little. Each one works the same way: type the lowercase code inside square brackets in a TikTok comment or caption, and TikTok converts it into the matching face. Learning a handful of these codes gives you a full reaction toolkit without ever opening the regular emoji keyboard, and because most TikTok users only know a few of them, dropping a rarer one like Funnyface makes your comment stand out.
